Follow Seth and Help Find a Cure

Seth’s Journey

My name is Seth Quinn and I’m 23 years old. I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, synovial sarcoma, almost 4 years ago. There is no medical cure for this cancer. In fact, the treatment options are very limited because this rare cancer receives less than 1% of 1% of research funding. I am raising money to support research for better treatment and a cure. Check out My Treatment and My Healing pages to see my journey and the Chemo Tips page on the blog. Also, please donate to support research to find a cure.

My goal is to raise $250,000 to fund the advancement of research for synovial sarcoma. We only need $35,363.50 more to reach our goal! The treatment options are extremely limited for synovial sarcoma and we are supporting research at Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) and the University of Pennsylvania because they have the tools, technology and support to help bring new hope and new treatment options to synovial sarcoma patients.

So what do we get when we support this research?

We get dedicated time in the lab where doctors and researchers are studying only synovial sarcoma. It’s dedicated focus that will develop successful treatments for patients like me.

Given that synovial sarcoma is extremely rare and a low proportion of funding is dedicated to its research, most of the discovery and research of synovial sarcoma must come from philanthropic efforts like ours.

We need your help to complete the fundraising objectives.  All money pledged will be exclusively managed by CHOP and is 100% tax deductible.

A Big Thank You!

July 2024 - A big thank you to the Belluco Family for making donations that will significantly further research for a cure. We would like to honor a beautiful young spirit named Teresa Belluco from Italy. Teresa was 15 years old when she passed of synovial sarcoma this last June. She had great hopes of surmounting this disease and went to MD Anderson in Texas where she courageously participated as one of the first patients in a new immunotherapy clinical trial.

Teresa also donated tumor tissue to the synovial sarcoma tissue bank at CHOP for further research and her family has donated, at Teresa’s request, $108,000 to the Following Seth to Cure Synovial Sarcoma Fund and $65,000 to the Spence Family Sarcoma Fund - Tumor Glow. We are truly grateful to the Belluco Family for these donations and we pray for peace and love to be with them.

We did it! We raised $100,000 to start research for a cure at UPENN!

We supported The Spence Family Synovial Sarcoma Fund and CHOP with our generous donors’ support and we raised $1,000,000 in April 2023 for the creation of a Tumor Registry/Tumor Bank and the National Tumor Board. The tumor bank now has over 50 registrants and is the single largest collection of Synovial Sarcoma tissue samples in the world! Let the research begin!
